2. How to Submit a Valid DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe that your copyrighted work has been used on TeeDIY without authorization, please send a written notice including all items below (required by 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)):
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing (URL required).
- Your contact information (name, address, email).
- A statement: “I have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
- A statement: “The information in this notice is accurate and I declare under penalty of perjury that I am the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.”
- Your physical or electronic signature.
3. Takedown Procedure
Upon receiving a complete and valid DMCA notice:
- We will promptly remove or disable access to the reported content.
- We will notify the user who uploaded the content.
- We may terminate repeat infringers in accordance with our Terms of Service.
4. Counter-Notification Procedure
If your content was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe the takedown was mistaken, you may submit a counter-notice including:
- Identification of the removed content (URL).
- Your contact information.
- A statement: “I have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.”
- A statement: “I consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for my address, or if outside the U.S., the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and I will accept service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notice.”
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Upon receipt of a complete counter-notice:
- We will forward it to the original complainant.
- If they do not file a lawsuit within 10–14 business days, we may restore the content.
5. Repeat Infringer Policy
TeeDIY may suspend or terminate accounts that are subject to multiple valid DMCA notices.
